Lakshmi ,the consort of Lord SriMahaVishnu,

is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity 

according to Hindu mythology....

Here is a 20 year old Tanjore painting-

one of the first Tanjore paintings I did...

I still remember those tense moments

when I carefully shaped her saree pleats 

and  mildly shaded the lotuses....

and She is in my house all these years 

showering me with Her Diving blessings....

Obeserve her sitting in

 Padmasana or The Lotus Pose...

In two of Her hands she holds lotuses

while one (right) hand shows the Abhayamudra

(sign of protection) the left hand shows 

the Varamudra (symbolising granting of boons)...
