Here is one of my favorite acrylic paintings...

Here I tried to capture in my canvas
a calm and cosy cottage with
flowerbeds bursting with a riot of colorful blooms...
The misty background and the frosty faraway trees
always attracted me and held me in their spell...
What I liked more about this little house is the warmth
and comfort and security it symbolises...
The not so well manicured lawns...the unruly flowery hedges,
the naturally formed path...and hazy backdrop -
they all stand so much away from today's
plastic surroundings and cities that I live in..
(let me be honest- I copied this work
(and changed here and there)
from a spread in a magazine...)
Looking at this painting intensely for a few minutes
help me relax and I am transported to a different
world...that is a stark contrast from this
hot,humid,dusty,unruly concrete jungle where I live...
How I wish to live in this dream house
which is devoid of city noises,tensions and pollution!
May be it is just a pipe dream for me
but at least this painting gives me instant escape...
I worked with Acrylic paints which
I prefer to the conventional oil paints...
as they are much easier to handle,less messy
and dries up much faster too...
