GAJALAKSHMI - A KERALA MURAL

NAMASTHESTHU MAHAAMAAYE...

SREE PEEDESURA BOOJITHE...

SHANKU CHAKRA GADHAA HASTHE

MAHAALAKSHMI NAMOSTHUTUTHE...

Here is my Kerala Mural
showing Sri Gajalakshmi...
seated in a lotus and flanked
by two white elephants...

This mural is based on a traditional
age-old images depicted on
the temple walls of Kerala...

I have painted it on a treated canvas
with acrylic colors ...
make a note of the color scheme...

We adhere to the use of Panchavarnams...
Mainly-yellow,red,brown,green,blue
and black and white...

The 5 varnas (colors)
derived from vegetable dyes
obtained from plants and
mineral pigments obtained from
some kinds of stones and sand...
black is obtained from soot
and white from limestone...

Thanx for dropping by with a nice comment.
We can do a craft with a detailed SBS guide...
but these murals are an art form...You can make a replica with a trace done on fine canvas with acrylic colors...Comes with practice.
