BEJEWELLED DANCING PEACOCKS - A KUNDAN PAINTING

Here is an ornate Kundan painting

done on a 12"X 12" mirror.

I chose traditional peacock motifs

and surrounded them with traditional

Kundan jewel motifs...

Uncut stones and pearls, gold liners and

transparent glass colors go into making

this painting...

Bright and traditional colors add to the

beauty of this work and adds to

the dramatic impact creates ....

KOLAM - A MIRROR PAINTING

Here is a simple yet strikingly

attractive stained glass painting

done on a 12"x 12"piece of mirror....

The design reminds me of

a traditional KOLAM -

hence the name ....

The dark green,orange and yellow

colors once again contribute to the

traditional "Rangoli "look....

A SIMPLE MIRROR PAINTING...

Here  is a striking yet simple

glass painting ...

I used a mirror as a base just to

enhance the brightness and the colors...

and it added to the magic ,indeed...

The clear blue sky,the shaded meadows

and the eye catching flowers -

all lend their own bit to add on

ANOTHER GANESHA ON A MIRROR

I wish to share a simple

glass painting  done on a mirror...

A Ganesha on any medium

catches my fancy and

this medium is no exception...

Since I did not want any bare patches

of the mirror to be exposed,

I covered the background areas

with silver glitter and

enhanced parts of the main design

with gold colored glitters...

GANESHA- KUNDAN PAINTING ON A MIRROR

Here is a different mirror painting...

I used  stones  and shaped up

jeweled motifs and borders

on the lines of Kundan jewels -

famous jewels of North India

made with uncut stones...

and added a tiny Ganesha on

the center of the piece...

A TRADITIONAL STAINED GLASS PANEL

Here is my stained glass painting ...

It is a fairly big one (2 ft x 4 ft)

Since I intended to display it on a wall,

I did not want the wall to be seen through

the transparent areas of the glass,

so  I used a mirror as the base...

And I used glitters to add  an extra touch

on the bare mirror areas...

ANOTHER TRADITIONAL STAINED GLASS PAINTING

HERE IS ANOTHER STAINED GLASS PAINTING

DONE ON A MIRROR...

SOMEHOW ,I FOUND THE DESIGN RESEMBLING

THOSE TRADITIONAL VENTILATORS AND SUN CATCHERS

WE SEE IN THE CHURCHES AND THOSE OLD

MEDIEVAL BUILDINGS...

OF COURSE,THE ORIGINAL ONES ARE DONE WITH BITS

OF COLORED GLASS FUSED AND SOLDERED TOGETHER...

WHILE I HAVE MADE THIS ONE

WITH OUT LINERS AND GLASS COLORS...

AND I COVERED THE PLAIN AREA OUTSIDE THE DESIGN

WITH 3-D GLITTERS TO GIVE IT A DIFFERENT LOOK...

              MEDIEVAL BUILDINGS AND CHURCHES...

TO ADD TO THE RICHNESS OF THE PAINTING,

I FILLED UP THE AREA OUTSIDE THE DESIGN

              WITH SHINY GOLD GLITTERS...

A HAND MADE CLOCK - A GLASS PAINTING WITH A DIFFERENCE

IS IT A STAINED GLASS PAINTING?

OR A CLOCK?

OR BOTH????

A work of art or craft is always appreciated...

but when you make that work of art functional,

it gets greater value addition...

I made a simple stained glass painting ,

just to enhance its look,I made it on a mirror

and I fixed a locally bought clock set on it...

(thanx to my framer-he did a neat job...)

and framed it up...

Now people look up quizzically for a second-

then smile as they say

"Oh,I thought it was just a stained glass painting...

it is a clock too..."

Their smile and compliments help me think different...

(Sorry for the reflection in the picture-

I could not handle a mirror better)

BLUE BIRD - A GLASS PAINTING....

HERE IS A STAINED GLASS PAINTING WITH A TWIST...

IT IS DONE ON A MIRROR....AND THE MIRROR ADDS

                             LUMINOSITY TO THE PAINTING...

AFTER FINISHING THE BLUE BIRD (or is it a Robin?)

NESTLING IN A LEAFY BRANCH -I DECIDED TO

                              GIVE IT AN INTERESTING TWIST...

I FRAMED UP THE PICTURE WITH

                              GLITTERS (FABRIC GLITTERS)

AND IT CHANGED THE VERY LOOK OF THE WORK...

                              ON SECOND THOUGHTS...I GAVE  A

GLITTER FINISH TO THE FLOWERS ALSO...

AND ,I HAVE PEOPLE GUESSING WHAT IS THE

                              BASE ON WHICH  I WORKED.....
