VILLAGE BELLE - ART OUT OF WASTE

Can you guess what is the base of this painting?

When I spotted a dry palm leaf 

with the stem intact, I liked

 the ridged edges of the dry stem...

So, I got an aide to saw a piece off it  for me...

I painted the piece with wood primer...

then painted it with brown acrylic paint ...

dried it completely for 3 days...

then traced the design of a village 

belle carrying a water pot

and filled it with acrylic colors...

After a couple of days I gave it a coat of varnish...

and fixed a hook on its hack...

and now, a wall hanger from waste is ready...
