Brahma Kamalam is a species of flowering plant named after Lord Brahma of the Hindu mythology and considered to be very auspicious. The botanical name is Saussurea obvallata. It is native to the Himalayas, India; Northern Burma and South-West China. In Himalayas, it is found at an altitude of around 4,500 m.

Brahma kamalam blooms only once in a year at night and withers away in few hours before dawn.
